Monday to Thursday: 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM
Responsibilities:
Production Management
- Oversee the daytoday operations of the manufacturing facility to ensure production targets and daily welding hours are met.
- Coordinate production schedules, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively.
- Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and manufacturing procedures.
Team Leadership:
- Provide coaching, guidance, and leadership to frontline unionized employees.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance conversations and provide feedback to employees.
- Address employee concerns in a timely and effective manner.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, implement corrective actions, and provide safety training as needed.
Inventory and Logistics:
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Oversee shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate and ontime delivery of finished products.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste and optimize inventory turnover.
Payroll Administration:
- Accurately track and record employee hours worked.
- Enter payroll data into the Kebrite system and verify accuracy.
- Submit payroll information before payroll processing cutoff times.
Qualifications:
- Postsecondary in Business Administration, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the steel or metal fabrication industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures, including lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with unionized work environments and collective bargaining agreements is an asset.
- Must have strong work ethics.
- Must be well organized and a selfstarter.
- Detailoriented, professional attitude, reliable.
- Proficient in Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), ability to use a personal computer and various software packages such word processing and spreadsheet design.
- Must be able to work up to 40 hours weekly in our Brampton facility.
