How You Will Contribute:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Environmental Sustainability, as an Environmental Sustainability Analyst, you will make a global impact by helping to accurately measure our ESG performance, communicating our progress, and continually driving sustainable programming within the company.
You will also play an important role in developing standardized data collection and verification processes for internal and external ESG reporting.
-Data Governance:
- You will manage and consolidate environmental sustainability data from a wide range of internal and external sources, including energy data, waste/recycling, travel, operational performance, circular economy metrics and supply chain logistics ensuring data accuracy and completeness and integrity.
- You will enhance ESG data analytics and forecasting to help provide insights and drive performance goals and develop dashboards that track, facilitate, and communicate progress of environmental performance against functional and corporate goals or KPIs.
GHG Reporting:
- You will collect, verify, calculate, and analyze data from internal and external sources in order to support GHG inventory and external ESG reporting (CDP, SBTi, SEC, ISO 14001, Ciena's Sustainability Report), ensuring that data collection and reporting complies with regulatory requirements and voluntary sustainability reporting standards.
- You will coordinate with corporate accounting on public reporting and thirdparty attestation of emissions data.
Corporate-Wide Sustainability:
- You will perform research and projectlevel support for corporatewide sustainability programming.
- You will partner with the Environmental Steering Committee and business unit leads to support the execution of our sustainability strategy related to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, waste, and building a more sustainable supply chain.

The Must Haves:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Environmental Sciences, or other related fields coupled with proven experience in environmental sustainabilty.
- Advanced skill using MS Excel with proven ability to analyze and forecast large data sets.
- Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, and largescale data warehouse management.
- Experience with analytical modeling, scenario planning, data mining, and use of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI/ML).
- Working knowledge of the Greenhouse gas Protocol, Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), Taskforce for Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and other international standards.
