Wood is seeking a
Project Manager with strong leadership and communication skills, for our Mining and Minerals EPCM business in
Oakville, ON.


We are looking for a talented
Project Manager with superior Mining EPCM project execution skills and abilities, on large scale mega projects (over $500 MN - $1 Bn).

He/she will possess strong leadership skills, and specific knowledge and experience with lithium, gold, copper and other precious metals.


The Project Manager has responsibility for overseeing the development of budgets, schedules and reports as well as for the management and coordination of project staff and sub-contractors to ensure safe, cost effective, efficient and timely completion of Studies in order to meet and/or exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement the project execution strategy
  • Ensure overall project scope of services and scope of work is performed in a safe, cost effective and timely manner that meets and/or exceeds client expectations
  • Provide leadership to the project team on HSSE matters and ensure that all employees and contractors carry out their duties and responsibilities as defined in the project HSSE execution plan
  • Monitor and review all project delivery components including administration, document control, project control, staff planning, engineering, supply chain management, construction, and precommissioning
  • Oversee the development of all project budgets, schedules and progress reports
  • Develop and manage projectspecific change and risk management systems
  • Ensure project requirements for permits, licenses and regulatory agency approvals are met and up to date
  • Organize and lead planning sessions, team building workshops and project coordination meetings
  • Ensure an appropriate review process is implemented for the project including internal and client project reviews, risk reviews, constructability and independent peer reviews

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Engineering from a recognized university
  • With 10+ years of relevant experience in a Mining EPCM Engineering environment, mining construction and/or mining operations.
  • Must have a minimum of
    5 years as a Project Manager on large mining projects ($500Mn$1 Bn) in lithium, gold, copper and other precious metals.
  • Mining project construction execution experience is essential
  • Experience in managing greenfield, or large brownfield projects is required
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new, proprietary and innovative solutions to current processes
  • Strong Leadership, solid communication & interpersonal skills are required;
  • Completion of a diploma or degree in a certified project management program is considered an asset
  • A willingness to travel, both domestic and internationally, for varying durations and at times to remote locations
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
