Saskatoon Student Child Care Services Inc.

seeks a kitchen assistant / child care centre support staff member to be part our team; The shifts will be 10:00am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday.

Our early childhood education centres provide child care to families with children 2 weeks through 5 years of age.

We provide support to teen parents as well as other parents within the community as they pursue their educational and vocational goals.

Minimum requirements:

  • High School Diploma


  • Food Safe Level

  • Current First Aid and CPR, Level C
  • Clear and Current Criminal Record check and Vulnerable Sector search
  • Interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and good verbal and written communication skills
  • Professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy
  • Patient, warm, energetic, flexible, sensitive and responsive
  • Able to adapt to various settings within the Centre
  • ECE Level 1 an asset

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain the kitchen is clean, safe and hygienic at all times
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic food safe preparation area
  • Prepare carts for snacks and lunches
  • Deliver and collect meals to centre classrooms timely and assigned
  • Carry out dishwashing procedures from start to finish after each meal
  • Support head cook by completing assigned tasks for food preparation, food service, kitchen maintenance
  • Become informed and remain up to date regarding food allergies and dietary restrictions generally and as they also exist for individual children/staff in the centre
  • Maintain appropriate work habits such as punctuality and regular attendance, productive use of work time
  • Assist child care programs as assigned by centre director in order in enhance or maintain childstaff ratios

Job Type:
Part-time


Salary:
$13.70-$15.20 per hour
