Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) is seeking an Administrative Assistant for Adolescent Services. Ontario Shores provides a range of specialized, tertiary care mental health programs for inpatients and outpatients.

  • Qualifications Required and PreferredQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
  • Graduate of a Community College Medical Office Administration/Secretarial Diploma or relevant Degree program;
  • Significant experience in an Administrative Assistant role, preferably in a health care setting
  • Demonstrated professionalism, diplomacy, creativity, flexibility and enthusiasm;
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written;
  • 3 years secretarial experience in a professional environment
  • Knowledge of office procedures and guidelines
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word and Visio an asset) internet and intranet knowledge
  • Excellent keyboarding skills wpm).
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proven excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral/written communication skills
  • Must have excellent grammar, punctuation, spelling and proofreading skills
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational, time management, prioritization, analytical, problemsolving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated planning and coordinating abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the position
  • Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard
  • Must be able to work flexible hours occasionally as program needs dictate.
  • Experience in a mental health or hospital environment
  • Experience with Meditech
