CNC Machine Operator
We are seeking an individual with experience as a CNC Machine Operator who is passionate about what they do and loves a challenge.
About the Role
As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be responsible for machining and modifying electrical enclosures.
You will work closely with the Mod Shop Manager and Senior Mod Shop Operator to meet customer requirements and delivery dates.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Machine and modify electrical enclosures;
- Use a Capacitive Discharge Welder to add studs when needed;
- Modify copper busbars and mount plates and custom steel products;
- Light assembly work;
- Run general machine diagnostics and define measures to be taken in terms of fixing, repairing specific functions, or replacing particular machine parts;
- Test repaired equipment using necessary tools to ensure proper machine functionality;
- Clean the work area after the shift and maintain a neat working environment;
- Position, secure, and align cutting equipment into machine tool/equipment holders with the help of manual tools;
- Clean and deburr machined parts and subassemblies using manual and machinery tools;
- Requisition missing materials to ensure timely servicing of the machines;
- Compute and input dimensions and tolerances. Measure and layout workpieces in the machine;
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance;
- Fit and assemble machined parts and subparts into full or subassemblies;
- Maintain and draft inspection reports and convey any issues to ensure quality assurance procedures are followed;
- Guide apprentices or new employees when required.
Requirements:
- Essential
- Experience as a CNC machinist operator;
- Experience with CAD software is required;
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in metal welding manufacturing, fabrication or maintenance environment;
- Completion of High School or its equivalent is required;
- Proficiency in reading/writing English;
- Manual dexterity;
- Previous experience in servicing manufacturing equipment would be an asset;
- Capable of handling weight up to 45 lbs;
- Attention to detail and a good sense of observation.
