What you'll be contributing:

The HR Manager administers HR-related programs following the organization's policies.

This position manages employment-related activities including recruiting, employee and labor relations, HRIS data entry and maintenance, various reporting, and leave administration.

The position also assists other managers/supervisors in conducting meetings and promoting compliance with government regulations as well as plant policies and procedures.


  • Administers company benefits, policies, and procedures (salary and wage) in coordination with corporate staff. Assists in compiling any plantspecific policies. Prepares and maintains data and reports for accidents, worker's compensation, and outside agencies. Administers affirmative action plan and promotes diversity at the location.
  • Administers all aspects of the employment process from recruiting to new hire orientation. Ensures that job descriptions are updated annually and provides local and regional salary information to assist management in determining appropriate rates of pay.
  • Manages employeerelations issues including discipline methods and arbitration. Handles union locations contract negotiations/interpretations, grievances, arbitration, and related laborrelations issues. Works with the Director of Employee and Labor relations for guidance when necessary. Investigates and maintains documentation of employee complaints (ADR) and participates in EEOC and employee complaint meetings.
  • Coordinates performance management activities such as disciplinary reviews and terminations with the assistance of corporate staff. Documents appropriate information throughout the performance management process. Trains staff on topics such as job interviews, performance reviews, harassment, alcohol and drug policy, etc.
  • Promotes teamwork and interfaces with all employees continually. Coordinates employee special events such as open houses, location cookouts, and picnics.
  • Maintains vacation schedules, and records absences, and tardiness. Works with our thirdparty vendor to coordinate employee leaves and ensures the HRIS system is accurate and up to date based on leave information. Processes retirement paperwork.

You will need:


  • Education 4 year degree in human resources, business or related field required


  • Certifications

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources positions with supervisotry experience
  • Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to perform, organize and prioritize work independently
  • Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly
  • Ability to refer to supervisor when in need of clarification or interpretation of the organizational policy.
  • Ability to work from general policies and objectives.
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking systems and processes.
  • Ability to use computer programs to input, store and retrieve data as well as to generate reports and documentation used in related projects.
