Middle Office Commodity Pricing Analyst - Calgary, Canada - WestCorp Solutions
Description
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a comprehensive database of multiple commodity prices (Crude, Products, NatGas, Power).
- Develop an expertise in the construction and validation of forward price curves and daily settles, ensuring data integrity and accuracy, within an automated framework.
- Perform daily pricing aggregation and data interface of all inputs into CTRM system; Initiation of endofday valuation process.
- Work closely with other staff to ensure accurate commodity pricing for daily profit/loss reporting.
- Identify, analyze, and proactively drive improvements to existing processes and procedures.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as required.
Skill/Knowledge:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas, macros).
- Proficient with analyzing complex sets of data and possesses the ability to problem solve independently.
- Capacity to multitask, working under daily deadlines and employing a continuous improvement mindset.
- Detail oriented with the ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy, performing tasks in an open and dynamic environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of the North American energy markets is highly preferred.
Essential Experience and Job Requirements:
- Risk Management experience in the areas of crude oil, natural gas, or power is considered an asset
- Bachelor's Degree in commerce, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Mathematics
- ERP/FRM is an asset.

- If selected for onboarding, you may be required to undergo a background check and substance test in accordance with job site policies._
