  • Red Deer Polytechnic is hiring a fulltime, termcertain Operations Manager in the Division of People and Culture under the direction of the Executive Director and Chief Human Resources Officer. We welcome you to join our dynamic team in this leadership role.
  • Reporting to the Executive Director, People and Culture, the Operations Manager is responsible for the daytoday management of the business operations and administrative support functions of the People and Culture (P&C) Division.
    Position Responsibilities
  • The Operations Manager contributes to strategic and operational planning, supports the development of business cases and proposals, and facilitates the preparation and submission of monitoring and compliance reports for the Division. This position ensures that business operations work effectively and efficiently to enhance the operations of the Division and the delivery of service to employees. The incumbent also oversees and coordinates a variety of projects in support of Division operations.
  • Using effective communication, problemsolving, and analytical skills the Operations Manager provides accurate information and data to administrative leadership, and service departments for the purpose of informed decisionmaking. The Operations Manager is expected to utilize and expand their depth of knowledge to improve processes and achieve efficiencies within the administration cycles at Red Deer Polytechnic. The incumbent supervises support personnel and expends funds within their signing authority. This position will develop and maintain positive working relationships with all contacts inside and outside Red Deer Polytechnic, demonstrating consistency with the institutions policies, mission, vision, and values. A high degree of initiative and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve results is required.
    Required Qualifications
  • A fouryear degree in Business, Human Resources, Communication, or a related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years progressively responsible leadership experience including direct supervision of staff.
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience developing, analyzing, and reconciling complex budgets, contracts, financial data, and other documents.
  • Highly developed leadership skills and proven ability to influence, problemsolve, develop, and implement plans and initiatives in a collaborative manner that engages both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, everchanging, fastpaced environment with multiple demands, competing priorities and numerous deadlines.
  • Demonstrated capacity to exercise sound judgement in sensitive situations and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and conflict resolution skills. Advanced Microsoft office skills, especially with Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
    Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Certificate is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of the operation of a postsecondary institution is preferred.
  • Ability to work autonomously, adapt to multiple competing priorities and work with multiple stakeholders to deliver results on time.
  • Superior organization and timemanagement skills.

to 51.51 per hour
Benefits and Compensation Information

  • An additional 8% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation and benefits.
