Description

Respnsibilities:

Promote safety awareness by ensuring compliance of corporate health and safety policies
Ensure all food preparation and portioning are completed prior to cooking
Ability to use a variety of cooking methods to prepare top quality food including deepfrying, panfrying, broiling, baking, boiling, grilling, sautéing, steaming, etc.
Operate all kinds of commercial and noncommercial kitchen equipment
Wash, slice, peel and cut meat, fruits and vegetables
Prepare sauces from scratch or using premixed products
Season and marinate meats and other food items
Assist in menu planning
Assist in inventory counts
Assist grocery orders
Assist in unloading, loading and placing groceries and supplies
Clean and sanitize designated kitchen areas
Ensure health and safety regulations and quality standards are met

Qualifications:

Red Seal Certification is considered an asset
Advanced Food Safe Certification
Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a cook in remote camps
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Strong leadership skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
Valid driver's license
Standard First Aid certification is considered an asset
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to work in the Ft McMurray area and work a rotational schedule
Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
Must be able to pass a preaccess drug and alcohol test
