Ability to work in a dynamic environment, both independently and in a team setting

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office
• Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Exposure to U.S. and Canadian tax, personal and corporate is an asset
• Exposure to U.S. and Canadian financial statements is an asset
• Working towards an accounting degree or equivalent (eventually would like to obtain their CPA designation)

The following are the duties related to this position:

• Setting up client files
• Scanning documents and organizing work papers
• Light bookkeeping
• Assists with financial statements (including journal entries)
• Prepares personal Canadian and U.S. income tax returns (resident and nonresident)
• Various nonresident tax compliance reporting
• Assists with Canadian and U.S. Corporate income tax returns
• Compiles tax and financial statement documents for clients
• Corresponds with CRA and the IRS.

The junior accounting associate will have the opportunity to work directly with the managing partner. Work otherwise will be with designated accountants at a senior level.
