Material Handler
LOCATION:
Guelph, Ontario
LEVEL:
Individual Contributor
DESCRIPTION:
Seeking relief Material Handlers on contract until December. Must be able to work rotating shifts.
Starting rate:
$ applicable shift premiums. Sign on and retention bonus available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Able to assist members of the distribution / warehouse department to ensure smooth operation of the production line and the flow of material
- Load and unload trucks
- Order assembly / pallet makeup & sorting
- Maintenance of production and warehouse reports and reporting of information
- Maintain a clean and safe workstation and area
- Assist in onthejob training
- Report unusual incidents, accidents and injuries immediately
- Follow all company policies and regulations
- Provide job shadowing when needed
- Other miscellaneous duties as required
Requirements:
- Forklift certification combined with previous forklift experience in a factory/warehouse environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Trouble shooting ability
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24hour operation
- Ability to handle heavy lifting on a continual basis
- Computer knowledge: Microsoft Word & Excel, and experience with integrated warehouse management software (Oracle) an asset
- Adhere to the food safety required as per job duties and report nonconformities
