We are seeking a Bookkeeper to work within our busy working environment. The Bookkeeper will provide day to day support on all accounting related tasks particularly with bank reconciliations.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in reviewing and posting monthly accounts
  • Post daily general receipts
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Ordering bank drafts.
  • Bank Runs
  • Prepare month end reports
  • Various accounting reconciliations.
  • Journal entries, Writeoffs and WIP transfers
  • Deal with inquiries from staff and lawyers
  • Filing of accounting records
  • Completing payments and controlling expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
  • Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Ensuring outstanding balances are updated with credit memos that are due
  • Verifying vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Maintaining historical records of all invoices, reports, receipts, and cheques by saving documents properly on the network
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills /Requirements

  • Experience in an office environment is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment.
  • Willing to learn; a "cando" attitude.
  • Team player, flexible and a quick learner.
  • Must speak, read, and write English.
  • Solid communication skills, with proficiency in speaking and writing
  • A polite and professional demeanor when working with other companies, as well as clients and coworkers.
  • High Level of accuracy independent worker, excellent organization skills and detail oriented.
  • Skilled multitasker with excellent time management skills.
  • Computer literacy Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
  • Understand basic accounting procedures.
  • Possess a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to take on tasks as required to assist team in completing projects when needed.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$38,000.00-$42,000.00 per year
