JMT Consultants Inc. is a growing structural consulting firm seeking an Estimating Manager to join our dedicated team. We offer an exciting relocation expenses package for individuals outside of the Winnipeg area.

We seek a skilled, motivated Estimating Manager to join our growing team. They can problem-solve and make sound decisions to ensure project timelines are met.

You must have a keen attention to detail and skills at estimating projects from a comprehensive view to meet our client's expectations accurately.

Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and assist in completing budgetary and final estimating of scopes of work
  • Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates
  • Use industry knowledge to focus efforts and drive short and longterm solutions
  • Assess projects by identifying project requirements regarding time, labor, and material costs
  • Responsible for detailed cost estimates and qualification development for bid proposals
  • Perform detailed structural and miscellaneous takeoffs
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation to ensure overall accuracy
  • Present estimates to clients in a timely and polite manner
  • Other projects as assigned
  • Assist with Project Controls (Schedule/Cost control)
  • Oversee a team of 519 estimators
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for new and existing clients

Qualifications:


  • Must be proficient with MS Office, especially Excel
  • Estimating with Bluebeam software is an asset
  • Tekla Powerfab or Fabsuite experience is an asset
  • Proven ability to lead a team
  • Work experience in tilt panels, manufacturing facilities, and schools is an asset but not required
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to operate independently or with a team
  • Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Must be familiar with a wide range of worksites, cost structures, and timelines

Requirements:


  • Diploma/certificate
  • Canadian Citizenship/Legally able to work in Canada
