Description

Durham Continuing Education is actively seeking contract employees fluent in Urdu, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Haitian Creole to plan and/or deliver multi-lingual lessons as a part of a Service Delivery Improvement project funded by the Ministry of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

LINC Instructor (multi-lingual) - Contract/Temporary-SDI project until March 31, 2024 (with approved funding)

DCE - 120 Centre St. South, Oshawa and/or 1400 Bayly St. Pickering and/or remote

3-6 hours per day starting as soon possible and ending March 31, 2024.


Qualifications:

TESL Ontario certified and TESL Ontario membership in good standing preferred or OCT certified and Ontario College of Teachers membership in good standing preferred

Multi-lingual lesson creation and/or delivery

Experience working with adults an asset

Completion of PBLA (Portfolio Based Language Assessment) training preferred

Vulnerable Sector Criminal Background Check is required

Must be fluent (Reading, writing, speaking) in Urdu, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Haitian Creole


Note:

All LINC/ESL positions are dependent on funding from our Ministry funders - Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD).
