What you'll do
- This position is for a Rigging and Technical Direction faculty position in the 3D Animation for Film and Games Department.
- As a faculty member you will provide educational leadership, curriculum development and delivery of first year and/or second year 3D Rigging and Technical Direction courses. There are two available courses that are 4 hours each per week running from September to December.
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Participation in department planning and review
- Work collaboratively with students, staff and faculty in the development and delivery of the 3D Rigging and Technical Direction courses
- Engage with local industry to build graduate success
- Prepare and deliver materials required for class lectures and labs
- Review and refine existing course curriculum and adapt to the changing needs of industry
- Support and mentor students with their graduation portfolios
- Instruct students in the use of industry standard 3D technologies
- Evaluate and grade students' performance
- Inspire the next generation of 3D artists and animators
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience in a related discipline may be considered;
- A minimum of 5 years' production experience in television, film or game animation industries;
- High level character rigging and technical direction experience using Maya;
- Post-Secondary teaching experience preferred;
- A link to a current portfolio or demo reel.
