Position Purpose:


Labcorp is seeking a Crisis Management Specialist responsible for the support of the Enterprise Crisis Management (CM) Program including planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of the ongoing CM program elements.

The CM Specialist guides groups of technical and business staff or initiatives in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization.

The CM Specialist has a broad set of skill that cross technical, business, project, risk, crisis management and business continuity.

The CM Specialist supports intelligence gathering and resolution on a global level and supporting real-time Enterprise CM Team activation.


Expected Responsibilities:


  • Monitor and escalate threat and risk intelligence for situational awareness and/or action.
  • Manage the end user experience and testing of the Enterprise mass notification system.
  • Work closely with Business Continuity and IT Disaster Recovery team members to continually mature and improve the response to incidents and crises.
  • Participate in Enterprise CM Team exercises and activations and identify, prioritize, and track remediation actions associated with the exercise or activation.
  • Assist in CM KPI and KRI data gathering and reporting.
  • Ensure CM Plans meet ISO 22361 standards

Job Requirements:


  • Selfstarter with a strong interest in CM and the ability to deal with a fast paced global environment and ambiguity.
  • Ability to work weekends and overnight hours during crisis incidents; normal scope of work consists of traditional Monday
  • Friday business hours.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and WebEx.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with experience communicating with and briefing managers, directors and other senior leaders
  • Experience facilitating and leading crossfunctional teams
  • Strong critical thinking, analytic, problem solving, and time management abilities
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
  • Achieve efficiencies through workflow improvement
  • Positively accept feedback and use it to improve individual performance and productivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload.
  • Perform well independently and in a team environment, with staff at all levels, to achieve business goals.
  • Travel may be required from time to time (approximately 10%).

Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Crisis Management, Disaster Management, Emergency Management, related field or equivalent experience, education and training. Relevant experience supporting programs similar to CM programs may be substituted for formal education.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • ABCP, CBI, BRCCI, IAEM-AEM, or equivalent certification.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 22301, specifically ISO 2236
  • National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS) 300 and 400.
  • Experience with Everbridge Suite and Fusion Risk Management software
