What you will do
As a Data Scientist, you will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You are driven to generate actionable insights from data and have the technical skills to follow your curiosity.

You will be an integral part of the Financial Markets Department's model development work, collaborating with other data scientists and financial market experts to help the department make informed decisions.

Within the Financial Market Data Analytics team (FMDA), you will:

  • collect, organize and manipulate structured and unstructured data from commercial, regulatory and internal sources
- perform data wrangling, dimensionality reduction and feature extraction
- apply, adapt and design computer programs for statistical analysis of data, including machine learning algorithms
- work jointly with economists and financial market specialists to evaluate, implement, and monitor automation scripts of our economic models
- use data visualization techniques to present the results of statistical analyses
- prepare detailed documentation to outline data sources, models and algorithms used and developed
- perform other operational and processing tasks for the team as required


What you need to succeed

You are curious and a go-getter whom by nature loves to dig deeper on problems and find creative ways to develop tools and services that drive innovation and bring value to real-world business problems.

You have a strong foundation of quantitative skills and a practical mindset using the appropriate technique for the problem, whether that be a simple linear regression or a deep neural network.

You are proficient in at least one statistical/analytical software (e.g., Python, R, Matlab etc.) and fluent in object-oriented programming and scientific programming (e.g.

Python) and related libraries for data science.
You are committed to learning and self-development, able to set priorities and ensure project completion in a timely manner.

You have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to clearly communicate information and ideas adapted to the target audience, using clear and compelling written and oral communications.


You have experience:
- assembling, manipulating and analyzing immense datasets that are significantly larger than our standard data sets and often retrieved in non-structured forms
- developing technical workflows that incorporate automation and produce easily consumable results with data story-telling via visualization tools, dashboards, presentations and reports


Your education and experience

This positions requires a completed Master's in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Engineering or other related quantitative discipline (ideally with significant coursework in data science) and two years of relevant experience solving problems that require the use of advanced data science and statistical modelling techniques.


Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge of economics and/or finance and financial markets data
  • Knowledge and experience with ML Ops, Data Ops, or Dev Ops in general
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and data science over cloud platforms is a strong asset
