    In the role of Senior Architect, you will collaborate with fellow members of the design team to formulate design solutions that align with the contextual, budgetary, and aesthetic considerations of architectural projects. Your responsibilities will extend to working closely with professionals from various disciplines, providing you with opportunities to oversee and coordinate the design across all project phases.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads and oversees the design and development of justice-related projects from concept to completion
  • Compiles information from reports and published documents; evaluates and analyzes the information to understand broad requirements of project
  • Develops architectural designs, to ensure an exemplary solution is delivered that meets quality parameters, project timelines and budgetary requirements
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and legal experts, to ensure comprehensive and effective design solutions
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and advancements in justice architecture
  • Integrates engineering requirements, site surveys and field review information, adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements
  • Prepares design reports, drawings and models following office standards
  • Performs site visitations to determine compliance with construction documents; identifies any deviations and liaises with owner and contactor to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Reviews project products, services, and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes and corporate quality controls
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to junior architects and team members
  • Required Skills

  • Experience in all phases of the project cycle is required
  • Architectural design software skills including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, PhotoShop, and other architectural design software
  • Familiarity with MEP and Structural building systems and building codes is required
  • Have successfully completed related post-secondary education
  • Registered with a relevant professional architectural association is an asset
  • Required Experience

  • 15+ years of project work experience
  • Experience in Justice projects is an asset
