Job Summary

The Data Clerk within Health Information is accountable for updating/maintain Physician Table in main systems within Southlake (for example STAR, PHS, Nuance, HPF, HCI, Medworxx, etc.).

The "Physician Table" data is used to send mail and fax clinical reports/results to practitioners. Processing "Return Mail" with full investigation and follow-up to assure future clinical results/reports are sent to the correct practitioner. Processing "Failed Faxes" with full investigation and follow-up to assure future faxes are sent to correct fax number. Also update the Hospital Report Managers subscriber lists within the systems.
Skills & Abilities

  • Two years of clerical duties in a health care environment required
  • Experience in collection of data from chart reviews and data entry required
  • Preparation of various detailed statistical reports required
  • Proficiency in computer skills (word processing (Word for Windows), spreadsheet (Excel) and database management (access), PowerPoint
  • Must be flexible with ability to set priorities and manage timelines
  • Work independently with mínimal supervision and functions effectively within a team
  • Innovative and willing to learn
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated problem assessment skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork

Qualifications:


  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Medical Terminology Certificate
  • Diploma in Medical Administration
