We have an immediate opening in the Bolton Market for a Machine Operator.
This Machine Operator Trainee position will report directly to the Production Supervisor and is a member of the Metrie Manufacturing team.
4 Shifts Available:
- Monday to Thursday Day Shift - 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Monday to Thursday Night Shift - 4:30 PM to 3:00 AM
- Friday to Sunday Day Shift - 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
- Friday to Sunday Night Shift - 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

This Machine Operator Trainee position will report directly to the Plant Supervisor and is a member of the Metrie Manufacturing team.
Operating Responsibilities
- Engaged in supporting MPS initiatives (i.e., Safety, SMED, Continuous Improvement, 6S, etc.)
- Lead by example to ensure Metrie's core value is met; P.R.I.C.E (Passion, Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence)
- Lead by example, maintaining a positive attitude while treating all other colleagues and associates with respect
- Strong understanding of production scheduling system
- Promoting teamwork as the production line lead, while keeping crew members motivated and working efficiently
- Provide positive feedback to fellow associates while soliciting feedback and opinions in return
- Provide communication back to the supervision team when necessary
- Ability to set up and operate both Cefla and Makor prime lines to the specifications of the manufacturer
- Ability to produce products in accordance to the work order specifications
- Ability to produce products to within quality expectations
- Understand SAP functionalities, and the necessary production documents (with respect to your role)
- Demonstrate superior problem solving / troubleshooting capabilities
- Ensure production targets are met while consistently producing product to work order specification
- Ensure daily production continuously meets the requirements of IFOTIS (In full, On Time, In Spec)
- Keep prime line and common areas clean and organized at all times
- Quality checks as per department requirements
- Crosstraining in other departments on the line (Saw, Moulder, and Packaging) to further skillset
- Full participation in all break rotations within your operating team
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervision/management
Safety Responsibilities
- Trained and competent in Job Hazards (JH) as per the Job Hazard Assessment (JHA)
- Follow all lockout procedures mandatory within the department
- Demonstrate leadership in accident prevention through LPA reporting
- Conducting S.S.A's as per scheduled requirements
- Full knowledge of machine operating procedures as per SOP's and hazard assessments
Physical Demands
- Frequent: Walking
- Occasional: Standing in the same location
- Constant: Standing
- Lifting: Floor to the waist, waist to floor
- Pushing / Pulling: Frequent when relocating production carts
- Hand to eye coordination and dexterity: Picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and repetitive rotation
