Overview

Responsibilities

  • Position incorporates all aspects of the brewing process including setup, operation and cleaning of brewery equipment (grain mill, conveyers, CIP, kegging, canning/bottling equipment and quality control testing equipment. The Brewer must understand laboratory analysis of biological/chemical brewery production products and stages such as yeast growth/counts, fermentation, gravities and alcohol content.
  • Filling and accurate recording of various finished product containers cans, bottles, kegs, associated cellaring with machine handling and safe product handling techniques. This position also includes receiving (inspection, storage, receipt and computer recordkeeping) of brewery raw materials.
  • Generate, complete and enter daily production manufacturing/testing worksheets using Microsoft office products (Excel).

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of the brewing process
  • Education in either brewing or related science, normally acquired at a College program such as Niagara College's Brewmaster & Brewery Operations Management or equivalent
  • Demonstrate the ability to safely and efficiently operate brewery equipment, materials, and chemicals in accordance with Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental-Protection Acts and related regulations (Industrial and WHMIS) using Personal Protective Equipment as assigned
  • Ability to work well in team settings and independently
  • Ability to repeatedly lift 55lbs
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multitask
  • Experience with MS Office/data entry preferred
  • Comfortable presenting in front of small groups
