Accountabilities:

  • Assisting patients with activities of daily living, repositioning, mobilization and transport
  • Ordering supplies
  • Daily restocking of supplies in patient care rooms and supply storage areas
  • Maintain and distribute departmental monitoring equipment
  • Transporting patient specimens to the pneumatic tube
  • Contributing to the maintenance of a safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Personal Support Worker certificate required from an accredited institution
  • Basic knowledge of aseptic techniques
  • Current CPR
  • Recent related experience working with geriatric and rehabilitation type populations required
  • Experience collaborating with an interprofessional team
  • Ability to adjust patient care practices based on interprofessional recommendations
  • Recent experience working in a highly technical patient care environment
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and comprehension skills
  • Flexibility to meet unit needs
  • Ability to work well with team members
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Meditech system
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
  • Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
  • Ability to travel between and work at all Osler sites as required
  • Able to handle the physical requirements of the job (ability to lift at least 2530 lbs)

Additional Information

Minimum:
$28.53 per hour


Maximum:
$29.12 per hour
