Accountabilities:

Assisting patients with activities of daily living, repositioning, mobilization and transport
Ordering supplies
Daily restocking of supplies in patient care rooms and supply storage areas
Maintain and distribute departmental monitoring equipment
Transporting patient specimens to the pneumatic tube
Contributing to the maintenance of a safe work environment

Qualifications

Personal Support Worker certificate required from an accredited institution
Basic knowledge of aseptic techniques
Current CPR
Recent related experience working with geriatric and rehabilitation type populations required
Experience collaborating with an interprofessional team
Ability to adjust patient care practices based on interprofessional recommendations
Recent experience working in a highly technical patient care environment
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication and comprehension skills
Flexibility to meet unit needs
Ability to work well with team members
Basic computer skills and knowledge of Meditech system
Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
Ability to travel between and work at all Osler sites as required
Able to handle the physical requirements of the job (ability to lift at least 2530 lbs)

Additional Information

Minimum:
$28.53 per hour

Maximum:
$29.12 per hour
