Position Summary:
The Accounting Assistant will provide support to Charter's head-office with accounting and administrative duties, with a focus on Receivables and Payables.
In addition, the Accounting Assistant role will help our accounting team stay organized and efficient by completing general administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collection of outstanding receivables improves positive cash flows within the company
- Timely entry and payment of invoices helps to maintain solid relationships with vendors
- Posting customer receipts, contacting customers regarding outstanding invoices, cheque deposits
- Posting nontrade payables, preparing invoices for payment, creating payment batches, notifying vendors of weekly payments
- Vetting information received from various departments for accuracy
- Communication and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders
Key Qualifications:
- Understanding of basic bookkeeping principles
- Experience with fullcycle receivables and/or payables an asset
- Experience with Sage 50 an asset
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Superior attention to detail and strives for accuracy
- Ability to work independently and prioritize own workloads efficiently
- Willingness to ask questions and a drive to learn
