  • Successful completion of postsecondary education or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a busy office setting with experience in administration, fundraising or events.
  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
  • Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge preferred.
  • Access to a vehicle and valid driver's license.
  • Availability to work flexible hours as needed for meetings and events outside routine office hours, including evenings and weekends.

Functions/Duties:
(not in priority order or percentage of time)

  • Provides front desk reception, handles telephone and public inquiries and refers to appropriate authority as necessary.
  • Receives, opens, sorts, and distributes incoming mail.
  • Provide responsive and timely administrative, organizational and clerical support.
  • Maintains public and hospital bulletin boards within CKHA. This includes posting notices and clearing of board. Done on a weekly basis.
  • Receives and processes donations, issues receipts for all revenue and acknowledges all donations with a letter to donor. This function has top priority with a goal of a 72hr turnaround.
  • Prepare bank deposits, including cheques, cash and credit cards.
  • Maintains accurate donor records, office files and confidential records in database(s), or manually if applicable.
  • Responsible for maintaining office equipment, ensuring adequate quantities of stationery and other office supplies.
  • Maintains uptodate scrapbook of news clippings related to Foundation activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure appropriate donor communications.
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality in all aspects of Foundation and Hospital activities.
  • Track volunteer support/hours.
  • Attends Foundation special events and assists as required.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Act as an Ambassador throughout the Community, positively representing the Hospital and the Foundation.
  • Work as a team player promoting a positive and professional work environment and conduct role with integrity and respect.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation

Note:
during peak special event times, workload and emphasis of department may shift. Assistant must be

able to adapt to change as required.

  • Abide by the policies and procedures of the CKHAF and CKHA.
  • Abide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and work in a manner that is safe, reporting incidents immediately to direct supervisor.
  • Operate within culture and core values of the organization.


As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital's Occupational Health and Safety department.
