    About You / What We Are Looking For
    This position will be responsible for technical and administrative work involving the coordination of the Visual Asset Management Program by tracking site work and inspections of all City building components and support plant structures. Our Facilities Asset Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and updating departmental records in the computerized maintenance management systems (Maximo/Cognos), our visual planning system (Cupix) and the asset management and capital planning software (VFA) with photos, drawings, plans and manuals related to City building components and supporting plant structures. Data entry, advanced utilization of Excel, data analysis, migration, and performing asset scanning, inspection and tagging of all building components will be expected. In this role, the incumbent will also prepare, analyze and present summaries of findings for the assigned projects, generate reports, sketches, drawings and specifications for proposed alterations, repair and regular inspections for maintenance work.

    The ideal candidate will have considerable knowledge in facility lifecycle planning, building maintenance methods, materials, and equipment; construction and costing methods, processes, and materials applicable to building or plant equipment maintenance and renovations; as well as asset management principles, facilities maintenance management, repair or replacement methods, and associated costs and timing. The successful candidate will have sound knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other computerized systems related to facility installations including mechanical, electrical, life safety, energy management and security systems as well as with MS Office programs and AutoCAD. As well, working knowledge of the bylaws, codes and regulations related to buildings and plant equipment and of the departmental policies and procedures applicable to the work performed as well as of the various trades involved in building inspections, repairs, renovations, and general maintenance of buildings and plant equipment will be expected.

    It is expected that the candidate has the ability to read technical drawings and perform take offs; sound knowledge of condition assessment of facilities and assets; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various internal staff, contractors and external stakeholders; ability to prepare and maintain reports and records and assist in budget planning related to the work.

    Minimum Qualifications
    • Diploma in Building Systems Technology or a related field plus sound experience in asset management of facilities or project management, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
    • Driver's license for the province of British Columbia.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Municipal experience and Certification in Asset Management will be considered an asset.

    This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $ $50.12. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
