The Role:


As an MDA Business Analyst, you will run strategic continuous improvement initiatives to deliver world-class process and system improvement designs.

This position reports directly to the corporate Director of Operations and is assigned to work in the local Business Area Operations and Engineering teams.


What You'll Do:


  • Act as the local lead for new implementations and continuous improvement of existing business systems, processes and policies for service operations
  • Create project business cases to analyze processes, determine project scope, define resource, budget, timelines and document the deliverables
  • Analyze current state processes and tool uses at your assigned site using various means of information gathering such as interviews, workshops, and observations.
  • Determine existing performance in terms of service, cost, and quality.
  • Assess future state business needs and document a To Be state process to provide focused improvement opportunities
  • Generate requirements for tool improvements
  • Assess technology solutions and provide recommendations
  • Prototype reports and dashboards to capture process metrics and KPI
  • Recommend and maintain business system user procedures, system documentation, and standard work instructions to maintain Quality documentation.
  • Provide status reports to the executive sponsor or other stakeholders as required
  • Navigate complex and ambiguous situations with numerous stakeholders with diverging interests to drive process change.
  • Work with the larger Business Operations team to implement improvements across all of MDA

Who You Are:


  • Postsecondary education in a relevant field such as process improvement, business, finance, engineering or related
  • 35 years of experience in process automation, or similar
  • At least 1 years of experience with continuous improvement techniques. Experience with Six Sigma, DMAIC, TQM, Lean, Kaizen, or other process improvement methodology is an asset.
  • Ability to analyze workflow and process flow diagrams and interpret process dependencies
  • A problem solver who can devise a solution and lead implementation
  • Strong attention to detail with a desire to learn and grow with an organization
  • Demonstrates interpersonal competence including reliability, consistency, flexibility and adaptability in daytoday interactions
  • Excited to learn by working alongside experts in many different fields
  • Knowledge of ISO9000/AS9100 standards a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Tier 1 ERP Applications, preferably Infor LN
  • Experience in gathering requirements for and understanding complex work flows across multiple departments
  • Knowledgeable with SQL queries and report development is an asset (MS SQ, SSRS, PowerBI) is an asset
