Job Summary:

Primary purpose of this position is to manage all import/export regulations on behalf of our clients. Including, but not limited to building and managing classification databases for a variety of importers and products.

Assign tariff classification, PGA details for files while ensuring the accuracy and compliance with various federal and international regulatory laws.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Support Operations release with OGD regulations, PGA inquires, SIMA, end use provisions
  • Determine tariff classification for open B3 files as needed and post audit verifications
  • Develop and manage new and existing clients' commodity databases
  • Establish and monitor Quality Control measures to review transactions prior to the file submission to CBSA
  • Provide support and solutions to both external and internal clients regarding technical customs issues
  • Assist clients during CBSA Compliance Verification and postaudit requirements
  • Perform Compliance Verifications with clients
  • Perform Free Trade certificate reviews for completeness and provide feedback to clients
  • Qualify goods under Free Trade Agreements
  • Present training seminars/webinars as required to internal/external customers
  • Claim refunds/amends and drawbacks
  • Advise clients on regulation inquiries such as origin, valuation, marking, temporary imports, Special Import Measures Act
  • Various other duties may be required

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as Customs Coordinator, Customs Specialist, Tariff Analyst related areas
  • Strong research/analytical skills with high attention to details
  • Ability to exercise good judgment to solve problems
  • Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills in English
  • Wellorganized and self motivated.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel

Education/Certifications:


  • High School Diploma
  • Customs Certified Specialist (CCS)
  • CTCS asset
  • Professional license asset
