    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    The Lethbridge Adult Community Services Addiction & Mental Health team is looking for an experienced, skilled and enthusiastic individual to fill the temporary position of a Addiction & Mental Health Recovery Worker. This position is based out of Lethbridge Provincial Building and expected to provide services in the community. The successful candidate will provide outreach services and supports in order to maximize individual's abilities to function successfully in their community. Working under the direction of a mental health therapist, addiction counsellor or social worker, this position will support individual's recovery from addiction and mental illness as well as promote health and wellness. The Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker will assist in skill development and facilitate healthy connections and relationships. The successful incumbent will maintain accurate and appropriate documentation on client files in a timely fashion. This worker will work within a multidisciplinary team and with community partners. Ther Addiction & Mental Health Recovery Worker will demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, creativity and sensitivity in supporting individual with significant barriers accessing community resources and services. Reports to the Manager of Lethbridge Adult Community Services, Addiction & Mental Health.

    Description:

    As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community based services to persons with a chronic addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness using psychosocial rehabilitation principles, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers. In this position, you will work under the direction of a regulated health provider.

    Required Qualifications:

    Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.

    Additional Required Qualifications:

    Valid driver's license. Knowledge of community resources. Understanding of addiction and mental health.
