Description

NATURE OF WORK

  • The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in performing a variety of administrative duties in accordance with established methods and procedures.


  • RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet students, faculty, and the public efficiently and courteously;
  • Respond to general inquiries for the Registrar's Office;
  • Respond to counter queries and where necessary, direct to appropriate individual;
  • Take messages and forward them to the appropriate individuals;
  • Assist the Admissions office in mailing of admission letters;
  • Sort and distribute mail for the Registrar's Office and respond to specific inquiries, complete forms, etc.;
  • Assist in mailing of transcripts and other department mailings;
  • Participate in the course drop process as well as grade changes;
  • Ensure the accuracy of the student file in the Clara System when updating a student's record;
  • Process document requests at the counter;
  • Issue an assortment of letters for fulltime/parttime attendance and status, diploma received, as well as other letters and written requests for students;
  • Assist other members of the department at peak periods as may be required;
  • Perform other related tasks.

February to May 27, 2023


Requirements:


  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • To have a diploma of vocational studies (DEP) in an appropriate specialty or a secondary school diploma (DES) or have a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.


  • CONDITIONS

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills in English; (testing may be required);
  • Intermediate oral communication skills in French; (testing may be required);
  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills; (testing may be required);
  • Ability to work as a team player, exercising both judgment and initiative;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail;
  • Ability to learn new software;
  • Knowledge of Adobe, an asset.
