Commissionaires Southern Alberta is responsible for providing professional security services for Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and Suffield.

Purpose of the Role


The Regional Manager - Lethbridge/Medicine Hat, herein referred to as the RM, is accountable for the safe, effective, and efficient service delivery to the organization's customers in the region.

The RM directs, leads, and manages a team of support personnel, supervisors, and Commissionaires to provide excellent service and help the Division achieve its organizational and financial goals.


Accountabilities

  • The safety and wellbeing of all staff assigned to and working in the region
  • Ensure safe, predictable, effective, and efficient delivery of client services
  • Achieving the Region's gross revenue, margin, and surplus targets
  • Providing leadership, direction, and general management to the members of the Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Suffield teams including selection, coaching, mentoring, development, and performance management of all staff in the region
  • Collaborate with the COO to ensure that the business and operations of the region are aligned with the Division's mandate and strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide visible leadership and management to all staff assigned to the region within their chain of command
  • Monitor the health and sustainability of internal and external stakeholder relationships within assigned scope and boundaries
  • Ensure consistent service delivery is achieved at all client sites including but not limited to: providing sufficient numbers of qualified staff in accordance with contractual obligations, timely and accurate reporting to the customer of service delivery or security related events, and robust follow up to client concerns or queries.
  • Develop and maintain superior business partner relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Monitor performance against Division KPIs
  • Work with the Finance team to create and monitor budgets, prepare financial forecasts, and review period financial statements
  • Monitor actual revenue and expenses on a regular basis and taking decisive action to control direct labour costs
  • Attain the gross margin targets as established for the region
  • Work with the Finance team to control indirect costs within their span of control
  • Develop Commissionaires and other staff in the region so they continue to improve their performance on behalf of the client and the Division
  • Develop effective succession plans for leadership within the region
  • Ensure Site Managers and Supervisors are developing effective and sufficiently trained security teams
  • Investigate and resolve client issues and other complaints in a timely manner
  • Work with Human Resources to ensure all legislative requirements and company policies regarding the fair and equitable treatment of all personnel is always adhered to.
  • Work with other Divisional Support Departments such as Recruiting, Operations, Training, Safety, Contracts, Sales and Marketing, Finance and Admin as needed
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing team to pursue larger, strategic types of new business that fits with the Division's strategic plan and client demographic
  • Identify and pursue relevant and appropriate new business opportunities for the region
  • Continually represents the corporation's interests in the most professional way possible by participating in industry association functions, trade shows and other events as requested by the COO.
  • Monitors trends in local and regional markets/industries and identifies innovative products/services to promote through strategic business development campaigns.
  • Participates in and contributes to daily, weekly, and monthly leadership meetings as required.

Education Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business or Security Management field (preferred)
  • High School graduation diploma from a recognized institution (minimum) or,
  • An acceptable combination of education and experience

Knowledge requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in a relevant field
  • Solid knowledge of financial management techniques
  • Knowledge of service delivery techniques
  • Enthusiastic and selfmotivated with strong organizational, time management, and priority setting skills
  • Strong computer skills m
