**Position Summary: **The role of the Head of Sales is to manage the Sanofi Vaccines sales function and field team in Canada in compliance with Canadian law and regulations, within Sanofi guidelines, policies and directives and to execute provincial plans defined with the Business Unit leadership team.


The Head of Sales negotiates and manages contracts with the Federal and provincial Governments and ensures sales targets for the company are reached each year.

He/she represents the sales force across the business, steering the development and implementation of best-in-class sales practices.

This role reports into the General Manager of the Business Unit and is part of the leadership team of the Business Unit.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Managing field force to obtain new immunization programs and achieve private market sales targets.
  • Negotiating and managing Federal and provincial contracts to ensure successful execution, penalties are avoided, and sales targets are met.
  • Supporting planning activities for brands, pricing and finance and ongoing execution.
  • Training and administration for Sales team including Plan of Action events.
  • Directly interacting with HCPs and government customers to achieve program goals.

Dimensions/Scope:


Canadian Vaccines sales total over $200 million with a large share sourced through government contracts but also the trade market.

The role manages a team of territory managers across Canada and is a key member of the Business Unit leadership team.


  • Operational & Policy Implementation.
  • Managing innovation to implement corporate policies & processes that bring the expected P&L performance.
  • Uses indepth knowledge or expertise of functional or specialized area to steer the development or improvement of processes, systems or programs that are critical to the success of business objectives.
  • Identifies gaps of knowledge in existing organization and makes innovative recommendations for introducing, improving or removing products, systems and processes.
  • Allocates resources (people, financial, systems) in order to ensure overall performance which will meet P&L targets.
  • Optimizes collaboration and integrates the perspectives with other functions and external stakeholders to improve the efficiency of crossfunctional processes, projects, etc.

HSE REQUIREMENT/STATEMENT

  • Show support for the protection of health, safety and the environment by presenting exemplary behavior and by contributing to the HSE objectives achievement.
  • Demonstrates commitment, leadership and continuous support for the Road Safety Program and their working environment and assure compliance with this program for drivers under their supervision.

Key Requirements:


  • University degree. MBA an asset.
  • 10+ years' experience in senior sales and marketing roles.
  • Competent in interacting and negotiating with senior level individuals
