The Opportunity:

The Facilities Coordinator supports the ongoing facility health of our various locations.

This role will ensure that campus facilities concerns are prioritized and addressed in a timely manner, that remediation plans are executed, and that the Facilities Technicians are appropriately scheduled.

This role will also contribute to the company's ongoing annual budget efforts by tracking and predicting required facilities costs.

During renovation projects, the Facilities Coordinator will lead the projects to ensure that accurate decisions are being made, and to ensure communications between stakeholders are timely and informed.


What you'll be doing:


  • Use Facilities' Jira ticketing system to monitor, respond to, prioritize, and schedule facilities ticket work for completion by Facilities Technicians or 3rd party contractors.
  • Work proactively with various Campus Directors to ensure campus locations are properly maintained, including assisting in coordinating local contractors as needed.
  • Serve as the initial technical point of contact for contractors, equipment suppliers, and property management across our locations.
  • Coordinate regular and emergency maintenance and repairs of our various mechanical, plumbing, electrical, data, and HVAC systems.
  • Monitor renovations of existing campuses, including drawing verifications, ensuring space needs are met, creating detailed project plans, coordinating RFQs for furniture, working with general contractors, specialized contractors, etc.
  • Assist Facilities Technicians with conducting routine preventative maintenance visits to our various locations to identify items for remediation (such as fixtures, signage, life safety devices, HVAC, and electrical systems).
  • Responsible for maintaining uptodate pictures of the facilities in XCAS.
  • Other duties as assigned, and which are in the best interests of the College.

What you bring to the position:

  • Trade school diploma, practical experience, or equivalent in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or other facilities-related fields.
  • Active certification in Working at Heights and Scissor Lift training is considered an asset.
  • 1+ year in a customer service or customer support role.
  • 1+ year experience in facilities management.
  • Experience with handson maintenance or installation work.
  • Knowledge of commercial/institutional facilities fundamentals including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, data cabling, etc.
  • Knowledge of simple RFQ processes, quotation evaluations, invoicing, and service contracts.
  • Moderate physical demand. Must be able to climb a minimum 15foot ladder.
  • A reliable vehicle, valid provincial driver's license. The role requires regular travel between all the Ontario campuses.
