Position purpose:


Reporting to the Team Lead, Employer and Business Development:

Manages an account base of engaged CO-OP employers by supporting operations related to sourcing prospective employers, following up on new job leads in targeted industry sectors and reporting job-development progress on a regular basis in order to help develop new job opportunities for the CO-OP Program.


Collaborates with the Placement Operations Coordinators and CO-OP Program Coordinators during peak periods to support operations, maintain service levels and maximize placement-process results.


Acts as a uOttawa Ambassador with potential and current employers to promote the image of the University and the CO-OP Program.


In this role you will:


Coordinate the full CO-OP Placement Operations for an engaged set of CO-OP employers to ensure excellent customer service and support in hiring CO-OP students and act as back-up for CO-OP Program Coordinators and Placement Operations Coordinators when needed, ensuring smooth placement processes.

Plan, schedule and execute CO-OP student mid-term evaluations within the timeframe provided while gathering intel on trends within those accounts.

Maintain and grow a small portfolio of CO-OP employers that might require particular attention and "out-of-the box" initiatives to sustain their growth.

Work with various students and team members to assist our team of CO-OP Program Coordinators with their business development strategies including market research to source potential employers and job opportunities suitable for the program.

Initiate current and develop new promotional campaigns to assist the team designed to increase the number of employers that hire.

Attend and participate to trade shows, career fairs, networking and other related events to gather new business and promote the CO-OP program and our other forms of experiential learning available to our community partners.


What you will bring:


Knowledge of business development and account management principles normally acquired through a university degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role. Related Work Integrated Learning / CO-OP or marketing experience (an asset)
Experience using Customer Relation Management (CRM) tools and proficient in Excel.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a team environment where priorities change often.
Experience organizing and prioritizing work in relation to tight deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and experience in conducting market research and reporting
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, enthusiastic, proactive, and motivated in following up with employers.
Ability to be thorough, accurate, and have a high level of attention to detail.
Superior communications skills, verbally and in writing. Ease at public speaking and ability to present in both official languages.

Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written)
