The results of this competition may be used to staff similar term or indeterminate positions within the Information and Innovation Solutions division.
Job Summary:
The Product Manager works with the clients to ensure the right solution is built to satisfy the business objectives and goals.
The Product Manager collaborates with the clients to conceive and define the technical and functional requirements, and prioritize these requirements with the design and development teams to deliver user-centered products using agile methodologies and modern software development practices while building capacity for product innovation.
They are also responsible for monitoring and refining digital products to maximize business results and sustain the end-to-end customer experience.
Statement of Qualifications:
Education:
Successful completion of a post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or a related field, OR an acceptable combination of education, training, or experience
Education - Assets:Certificate or Certification in Product Management (e.g. Certified Product Manager, Certified Scrum Product Owner, Agile Certified Product Manager and Product Owner)
Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards
Experience:
Experience working in Information Technology projects or supporting operational systems
Experience providing strategic and operational advice to management
Experience in eliciting, analyzing and documenting business or functional requirements
Experience facilitating discussions with stakeholders or clients
Knowledge:
Knowledge of business analysis practices and techniques
Knowledge of the Product Management lifecycle and Agile Project Management Principles
Assets:
Knowledge of the Government of Canada Policy on Service and Digital, and the Directive on the Management of Projects and Programs
Knowledge of the research community and of the university setting in Canada
Abilities:
Strategic and analytical thinking
Effective interpersonal skills

Effective oral and written communication
Show initiative and being action-oriented to achieve results
