Property Claims Examiner - Full Time (Remote, Anywhere in Canada)


International Programs Group (IPG) is an independent third-party claims administration team that provides claims services for Lloyd's of London, self-insured entities, and organizations with high deductibles.

We provide our clients with peace of mind knowing that their interests are looked after by a team of professionals who understand the specific language and technicalities of this market and who are dedicated to providing the highest quality of Third-Party Administrator (TPA) services.

IPG also provides clients with the added value of local, on-the-ground knowledge and coast-to-coast coverage across Canada and the UK.

Utilizing a 'desktop' model, International Program Group examiners manage claims from start to finish. This hands-on approach ensures that the claim is handled properly and also helps offset third-party adjusting costs.


Under this model, our examiners:

  • Examine moderate to complex claims.
  • Direct Field Adjusters on task assignment investigations.
  • Settle claims directly with Insureds or their representatives.
  • Administer claims payments/settlements through trust accounts.
  • Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure clients' needs are met.
  • Report directly to Underwriters and self insured entities.

Qualifications & Experience:


We are looking for someone with a demonstrated and proven track record of performance over the past 3-5 year in the areas of Motor Truck Cargo, and large loss property claims.

You will have to be strong technically, a solid planner and organizer, and understand key issues plus provide solid solutions.

You will have to be motivated to do this type of work and be excited by the challenges that a rapidly growing organization faces.

Licensing and experience are critical to being able to handle significant examining tasks for a TPA.
- your education, with relevant post-secondary education being an asset.
- your completed CIP courses. CIP designation is helpful.
- your ability to hold an independent adjusting license in BC, Alberta, Ontario.
- your experience delivering relevant claims adjusting and/or examining work.
- your experience positively contributing to a high-performing team.
- examples of your strong aptitude and ability to work with technology.
- your attention to detail and your ability to communicate professionally.

  • Proactive, and thorough investigation of each claim.
  • Timely in claim handling and adjusting.
  • Careful with an attention to detail handling claims documentation with electronic notes.
  • Appropriate management of claims expenses.
  • Timely in loss reserving according to our clients' respective reserve philosophies.
  • Focused on dealing with claims properly and economically.
  • Professional, paying claims only where insured or insurer is legally liable.
  • And is realistic with their claims reserves in accordance with client guidelines and philosophy.
