Plant Manager


The Plant Manager works as part of the facility management team and will direct and coordinate all manufacturing operations in the production department.

This role will focus on developing priorities based on production introduction, equipment efficiency and materials.

Key Accountabilities

  • Allocate work and forecast future work assignments
  • Coordinate the scheduling of all machines to make efficient use of the complete facility
  • Supervise maintenance requirements to ensure that downtime is minimized and productivity maintained
  • Ensure that all required tooling and programming is available as required by production
  • Review the preparation of all process sheets to ensure that correct manufacturing is performed
  • Ensure proper supervision is maintained in all areas of the plant as required
  • Ensure that jobs are manufactured in the most efficient manner
  • Maintain regular liaison with supervisors relating to production problems and needs to meet company demands
  • Review delivery requirements and machine production to eliminate missed commitments and improper manufacturing
  • Provide necessary support to purchasing department on material requisitions
  • Review and authorize necessary overtime required to meet customer deliveries
  • Ensure that proper wage rates are maintained for work performed
  • Assisting with priorities and resources for maintenance

Minimum Requirements

  • A university degree or college diploma in administration, manufacturing, or a related discipline
  • At least six years of related experience, including supervision
  • Proven leadership of a manufacturing team
  • Previous experience in a highvolume automotive manufacturing facility
