The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Accounting Department and providing overall guidance to a team of Accounting Clerks.

Supervision / Oversight

  • Prepare employee work schedules, approve vacations / absences.
  • Training new employees.
  • Coordinate crosstraining of staff and ensure adequate coverage during absences.
  • Supervising and providing overall guidance to a team of Accounting Clerks.
  • Ensure that transactions are posted in a timely manner and that company objectives are met by the Accounting Team
Invoicing / Billing

  • Oversee the daily activities of the Accounting Clerk(s), ensure that established procedures are being followed, and provide guidance as needed.
  • Processes customer invoicing in the ERP system.
  • Review Accounts Receivable aging report on regular basis.
  • Review freight accruals to ensure that freight cost / provision is accurate and present on all invoices.
  • Review delivery documents prior to invoicing to ensure that Proof of Delivery has been received and revenue is being recognized in the appropriate period.
  • Coordinate the reconciliation of customerowned inventories with Sales and Operations, ensure invoicing is posted in a timely manner and according to the terms of customer agreement(s).
  • Confirm that sufficient inventory is onhand prior to invoicing, coordinate discrepancy resolution with Operations.
  • Liaise with other internal and external stakeholders as needed to resolve issues as they arise.
Month-end Duties

  • Run Accounts Receivable Aging reports for assigned group of sites on a monthly basis, ensuring that general ledger and subledger balances tieout.
  • Review delinquent Accounts Receivable balances with Credit & Collections Team to make sure that appropriate action is being taken and provide assistance at the local level where needed.
  • Reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts, coordinate with GL Accountant as needed.
Other

  • Maintains organized records invoices for audit purposes.
  • Crosstrain with other Accounting / Administrative staff and act as backup during periods of absence.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:


  • College Diploma or equivalent in accounting or businessrelated field.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Proficiency in English, spoken and written
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, monitor and check work or information
  • Strong accounts payable knowledge
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office and BlueBee System, SAP)
  • Ability to work independently and being flexible regarding work assignments.
