Position Overview


The primary role of the Emergency Services (E-Services) Supervisor is to ensure staff are performing to Canstar and IICRC standards, to meet or exceed customer key performance indicators, and to complete the emergency portion of claims (flood and demo) in a timely manner.

The E-Services Supervisor works diligently with the Department Manager and Project Manager Teams to efficiently and effectively mitigate water damage losses.

Training new team members and completing jobs on time and on budget is crucial to the success of this role.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administration_
  • Conduct site visits to confirm accuracy of scope of work, proper mark out, demolition, and equipment placement. Ensure SSA is posted and all hazards have been properly identified.
  • Review and approve employee timecards, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting
  • Ensure all claimrelated documentation are complete, legible, and submitted timely
  • Ensure work authorization forms have been signed and submitted
  • Ensure job site documentation is accurate and submitted timely
  • Review work orders for accuracy and consistency
  • Complete FLIR inspections/reports
  • Ensure all IICRC standards are met

  • Lead accountability for meeting department KPIs and budget targets
  • Coach and mentor technicians on water remediation and demolition
  • Identify and escalate performance concerns to management
  • Provide technical support and training to new staff
  • Lead team on all claims (small to large/complex losses)
  • Provides direction to technicians, tracks equipment and progress

  • Conduct on the job training and document employee progress
  • Train staff on how to moisture map, identify and mark out nonrestorable materials, use equipment and stabilize job sites and ensure all training initiatives are documented and communicated
  • Train staff on setting up specialty equipment
  • Take an active role in improving/maintaining the quality of Canstar jobsites
  • Provide training and feedback on customer service standards and professionalism on site

  • Sets up specialty equipment
  • Frequently monitor job sites, document drying process and deem structures dry
  • Communicate scope of work discrepancies to PM Teams and recommend solutions
  • Identify areas of concern (high costs, projects taking too long) and work with teams to adjust and resolve issues
  • Estimate equipment requirements on large loss claims and instruct technicians on placement
  • Provide technical knowledge and support to all field staff (flood and demolition)
  • Communicate with PMs and supervisor on drying and demo strategies

  • Runs daily safety meeting
  • Ensure that self and others adhere to Canstar's health and safety practices and procedures
  • Ensure good housekeeping is kept to perform work safely and efficiently
  • Understand safety policies and protocols
  • Ensure that self and others on site are wearing all required PPE, when required

Who we are looking for:


  • Education and Experience_
  • 5+ years of restoration experience
  • Valid IICRC WRT certificate
  • Extensive knowledge of the IICRC S500 and the ability to effectively communicate its guidelines to employees and customers
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License with satisfactory driver's abstract
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Superior customer service skills
  • An understanding of asbestos, lead and Hazardous Material Interpretive Reports
  • Knowledge of demolition procedures and ability to utilize appropriate tools
  • Knowledge of construction is required
  • Knowledge of IICRC standards, IAQ equipment, carpet cleaning, injectidry, truckmounts, portable and sump bumps, dehumidification and air movement.
  • Ability to motive and lead large teams, including temporary workers
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to complete required department documentation legibly and timely
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure
  • Ability to train new and existing employees (hands on and remotely)
  • Ability to adapt to a fastpaced work environment and changing industry

Working Conditions:

  • Travel within the Lower Mainland to visit Canstar branches and client offices is required
  • Will sometimes be in wet and/or dirty environments
  • P.P.E. is available for use and is mandatory
  • Must comply with the company's dress code at all times
  • Must be able to work in an oncall rotation
  • Must be flexible to work overtime, evenings, and weekends on occasion.
