The Opportunity

Technician, Debug


Location:
Ottawa, ON


Your Challenge:

  • Responsible for debug of a wide variety of complex graphics circuit cards, single board computers, Ethernet switches and routers
  • Debug and diagnose complex electronic circuits by setting up and performing functionality tests and specialized tests in order to track down the root cause of the product failures
  • Perform methodical, disciplined techniques to meet customer expectations and internal targets for OTD metrics
  • Identify nonconforming products and components
  • Document symptoms as required to allow engineering staff to further analyze problems where necessary
  • Feedback technical issues to Quality, Manufacturing Engineering or Test Engineering Support
  • Suggest process improvements
  • Complete all logs, reports and data gathering in accordance with established procedures
  • Work with engineering on technical investigations by executing tests and providing data as directed by engineering
  • Complete Mandatory training as required
  • Comply with all Workmanship standards
  • Provide mentoring to staff including technical guidance
  • Drive continuous improvement of production test yield based on the analysis of manufacturing and field data
  • Review and analyze production failures and provide detailed analysis of trends
  • Validate ECO changes for accuracy and manufacturability.

Your Expertise:

  • SKILLS_
  • Experienced use of PC, hardware and networking test equipment
  • Experience with electrical concepts, readings and understanding hardware schematics.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows environments
  • Well defined analysis, problem solving skills in debug and root cause investigations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to interact successfully with internal and external groups
  • Ability to work effectively on an individual basis and in a team
  • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills


  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE_

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent 23 years in test/debug on processor or graphics products and/or equivalent
  • Experience in the aviation/aerospace fields is an asset.
  • A background in electronics manufacturing is required.
  • Experience with IPC 610D Class 3 requirements are an asset.
