Summary
The Mechanical Foreman under the direction of Project Manager and Field Supervisor, is responsible for managing and providing leadership to Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians working at TechCanada.
The Mechanical Foreman directs and coordinates planning and the implementation of projects and is responsible for installing, repairing and/or replacing of plumbing/gasfitting systems, components and devices.
The incumbent must maintain an up to date knowledge of codes and standards and ensure that projects being completed are in compliance at all times.

Job Duties
- Direct and coordinate plumbing/gasfitting planning and implementation ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and work order requirements
- Provide onsite direction and leadership for all of the activities of apprentices
- Report work compliance with relevant codes, standards and procedures
- Provide required plumbing/gasfitting calculations as required
- Prepare specifications for purchasing of required materials and equipment
- Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems
- Develop sustainable work relationships to ensure positive resolutions with all contacts
- Oversee the implementation of designs
- Make technical decisions
- Inspect installations for quality, ensuring that codes and standards are met
- Ensure job safety is maintained at all times by all employees
- Maintain records of project resources
- Any other duties as required
Requirements:
- Red Seal Journeyman ticket required
- Demonstrated understanding of plumbing/gasfitting theories and principles
- Strong presentation, oratory, and verbal skills
- Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to nonengineer team members in a clear manner
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian plumbing/gasfitting standards
- Demonstrated knowledge of required code for operation's geographical area
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executives
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Able to create alternative solutions to problems
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost control measures
- Effective leadership skills required
Work Conditions
- Some travel may be required
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Ability to physically implement designs
- Overtime as required
- May be exposed to construction sites
- Weekend work may be required
Job Types:

Salary:
$39.90-$45.60 per hour

Licence/Certification:
- Class 5 Drivers Licence (preferred)
Willingness to travel:
- 25% (preferred)
