The opportunity


The Business Systems Owner defines the vision and roadmap of enterprise software systems and plays an advisory and supportive role for key business stakeholders.

They have the necessary business acumen and the technical knowledge to recommend strategic direction on the use of enterprise systems and adoption of new features.

They communicate directly with key business stakeholders as well as software developers to provide ongoing support and the best possible user experience.


How you will make an impact

  • Collaborate with Process Improvement Analysts and the business stakeholder on defining requirements and validates the systems meet expected business outcomes
  • Ensure the business system aligns with industry direction, standards, and best practices
  • Control and prioritize all business requests (e.g. feature enhancements) and collaborate with Process Improvement Analysts and software developers on mapping future changes Provide communications to key business stakeholders during any service incidents
  • Provide indepth technical handson knowledge and experience for the business systems being managed
  • Communicate technical concepts in a language the business understands
  • Oversee implementation of system changes
  • Interacts directly with business systems vendors, negotiates new features planning and implementation
  • Research new or upcoming system features and collaborate with Business Process Engineer on proposed changes to the existing processes
  • Collaborate with Process Improvement Analysts to ensure such artifacts as process flow diagrams, business usecase diagrams and solution concept diagrams are developed by BPEs and filed accordingly
  • Provide first level of technical support to the business
  • Provide software training to business users using hands on or webinar format
    What you will bring to TVO:
  • Undergraduate degree (e.g. B.A.)
  • 57 years of related experience
  • Superior communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Indepth technical handson knowledge of and experience with business systems
  • Experience with one of: Jira, Office365, Philanthropy CRM, Marketing CRM or similar platforms
  • Strong problemsolving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a crossfunctional setting comprising of various key stakeholders
