Applications are invited for the position of Proposal Writer in the Research & Innovation Division, located at the Welland Campus.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and execution of grant writing in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders
- Manages relationship with external grant holders
- Facilitate institutional and external letters of commitment and support
- Research and identify relevant sources of external funding at all levels of government and all relevant agencies
- Maintain database of grant funding opportunities, along with specific grant requirements, to be used as means of planning and informing relevant academic and service divisions
- Support the Associate Director, Strategic Partnerships in their duty to write larger, multifaceted government grant proposals
- Support strategic planning by assisting the Associate Director, Strategic Partnerships, in tracking metrics related to grant writing and successful approval/award rate, amount of funding awarded, and successful outcomes related to those grants, on an annual basis
- Suggest and assist in developing more efficient methods and procedures for grant management across the College
Qualifications:
- 3year diploma or degree in communications, journalism, business, political science, or a related field of study
- 5 years experience, preferably in a postsecondary setting
- Experience related to applied research and/or grant writing or proposal development is an asset
- Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills
- Demonstrated ability to write, edit and proofread at an advanced level with impeccable accuracy in grammar, spelling and content verification
- Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
- A record of success at writing proposals that have been awarded funding (e.g. Tri-Agency program) would be considered an asset
