JOB TITLE:_Order Clerk

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:_Inside Sales Manager

-
BASIC FUNCTION:_Responsible for waiting on customers, answering telephone inquiries.
Responds to customers needs, demonstrates products, and closes sales. Receives payment from customers for merchandise or services. Helps keep store well maintained, clean, organized and safe.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

_

  • Provides the highest level possible of service to all customers with the main objective of serving well our customers.
  • Treat all customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Interacts in a positive manner when assisting customers with questions regarding merchandise, location of merchandise in store, pricing and promotions.
  • Provides customers with information on additional items related to purchases made.
  • Maintains uptodate knowledge of the products sold, product usage, product prices and new products on the market.
  • Complies with Company procedures on sales transactions, paperwork, refunds, credit memos, etc.
  • Complies with dress code specified by Company policy.
  • Assists supervisor, other employees as needed.
  • Promotes team concept.
  • Attends and participates in all companysponsored training programs as required.
  • Empty all wastebaskets and dispose of all material designated for disposal as scheduled.
  • Receive orders inbound to store as per procedure.
  • Merchandising and front facing items in the store to promote a clean and convenient shopping experience.
  • Provide support in ecommerce activities.
  • Advise management of the need for repair or replacement of structural materials or display systems.
  • Use proper cleaning agents and materials.
  • Maintain the inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Inform the management of a need for additional Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Follow proper security procedures at all times.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping.
  • One (1) mandatory Saturday every year for inventory (Last weekend of July before Civic Holiday weekend).

EDUCATION:_High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
-
EXPERIENCE_:_2 years' experience in commercial/retail sales or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:_

  • Ability to read and write.
  • Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of building materials desirable.
  • Ability to operate cash register (computer) equipment.
  • Customer Service, Product Knowledge, Quality Focus, Problem Solving, Market Knowledge, Documentation Skills, Listening, Phone Skills, Resolving Conflict, Analyzing Information, Multitasking
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment as prescribed in designated areas
  • Must be fluently bilingual (written and oral) in English and French

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:_

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time.
  • Reach overhead to grasp materials.
  • Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level on occasion.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Ability to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Strength: regularly lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS_**:

  • Moderate noise level.
  • Work with mechanical equipment on a daily basis.
