- What you'll do
- Work as part of a larger team, contributing to existing work and projects as requested
- Build relationships within the Indigenous Health team and across the organization
- Participate in a variety of meetings with internal and external colleagues and partners
- Learn about CIHI's approach to contributing to First Nation, Inuit, and Métis health data priorities and respecting principles of Indigenous data sovereignty
- Contribute to project and meeting planning and develop materials for engagement with Indigenous and nonIndigenous partners (e.g., slide decks, short texts)
- Scan, summarize, and synthesize research and policy literature/environments for relevant Indigenous health information and/or analyze data
- Support projects in collaboration with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis organizations
- Support activities and events related to cultural safety and humility (e.g., cultural safety measurement project)
- Support the development of reports and other products, such as website updates, materials for engagements/conferences/workshops, fact checking, and product testing (e.g., education and training products)
- Must be registered in a Master's level program
- Experience conducting literature searches and reviews, and writing short texts for different audiences (public or professional)
- Experience working in Indigenous health research, sociology, population health or a related area. Experience with data analysis is an asset
- Knowledge of Indigenous health and social issues and social/political context of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples
- Ability to work in a team environment with mínimal supervision
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
- English fluency is required. Knowledge of French or and an indigenous language is an asset.
