Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Act as Claims Coordinator for the countries in the Americas Region
  • Support senior leadership with daily execution of the strategy for the area
  • Serving as escalation point of contact for questions on operations' best practices, broker and carrier liability, and all overage, shortage, and damage issues.
  • Responsible for ensuring company policies and procedures are followed regionally while promoting a friendly teamwork environment.
  • Manage employees and daily activities for the North America team and coordinate with the LATAM teams to ensure consistency at regional level
  • Create internal departmental policies and procedures for timely resolution of claims and compliance with global practices and standards
  • Develop and implement process to periodically audit regional claims files in WebClaims to guarantee quality data for reporting
  • Continuously monitor progress and performance through appropriate KPIs and reporting. Implement corrective actions where and when needed.
  • Produce monthly scorecard to publish to Regional Senior Management
  • Escalate claims awareness to Senior Management as outlined in company policies
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with Claims Managers and Coordinators of other regions to foster collaboration, effectiveness and improve the perception of our customers in relation to our Global Claims process.
  • Provide support to team members with complex internal or external negotiations and recoveries.
  • Provide quality customer service to customers and claimants as needed.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining reports in Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
  • Ensure a safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures
  • Support Senior Management's activities.
  • Liaise with operational areas to provide feedback and training to staff involved with freight claims.
  • Perform duties in accordance with industry standards, regulations, corporate timelines, performance standards and workplace safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Details/Specification/Explanation of the role specific skills:

  • Knowledge of international conventions for all modes of transport, as well as US and Canada's conventions.
  • Knowledge and experience with Claims Handling Process.
  • Knowledge of Cargo Insurance practices.
  • Knowledge of KPIs measurement
  • Comfortable with reporting and presenting to senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of Power BI preferred.
  • Analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Personal integrity and commitment, independent and solution-oriented working style, team spirit. This is a manager position. Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills required. Must have Bachelor's degree in related area. Generally, prefer 1+ years of related management experience. We are an equal opportunity employer.
