About CASA


CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families.

CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle - mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care, and acute treatment in hospital.

CASA's team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners.

This includes assessment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs.


About the Role
The Clinical Educator develops, implements and coordinates internal clinical training activities for CASA clinical staff.

The Clinical Educator works closely with CASA's clinical leadership team to streamline the clinical education and trainings offered by CASA to meet clinical program needs and to ensure increased and best practice learning opportunities for clinical staff.

The Clinical Educator plays a key role in supporting CASA's goal of becoming a nationally-recognized learning and teaching organization.


The Clinical Educator will:


  • Work collaboratively with CASA leadership to determine, design, implement, deliver and track organizationwide clinical training priorities.
  • Design and implement a training plan/strategy to meet expressed clinical training needs.
  • Participate in Clinical Operations Committee and Professional Practice meetings.
  • Produce training materials/courses for inhouse use.
  • Provide leadership by identifying patient safety issues and initiating corrective action in consultation with staff.
  • Facilitate mentoring and coaching for clinical staff.
  • Support and participate in initiatives impacting clinical education and training directions.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree with in psychology or social work (clinical designation preferred).
  • Must be a member in good standing with their respective professional association/college.
  • A minimum of five years of clinical experience delivering children's mental health and youth addictions treatment.
  • Demonstrated experience as an educator and/or facilitator.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparation, design and delivery of clinical education workshops and training to a broad range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience with a number of clinical therapeutic modalities such as, but not limited to; cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, solutionfocused brief therapy, postcrisis debriefing and trauma therapies.
  • Experience in group facilitation, such as working groups, is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new or unexpected situations.
  • Flexible approach to interpersonal situations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in all aspects of the discipline including clinical practice, supervision and education.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.
