Purpose:


Reporting to the Student Success Manager, the
Student Success Advisor will work closely with ILAC students across all the brands - ILAC Higher Education, ILAC IC and ILAC Pathway - and provide them counselling to continue their education at ILAC partnership colleges.

This role will look to increase the retention numbers of students studying at ILAC Education Group by providing counselling and support to existing students interested in continuing their education.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide services to students that include oneonone advising, group information sessions, info tables and webinars
  • Participate in and organize information workshops for current ILAC students showcasing other further Higher Education opportunities at ILAC.
  • Collaborate with other departments and functional areas to deliver an optimal student experience from inquiry through to graduation.
  • Support student information in house events such prearrival orientations, orientations, webinars, info tables and other in person or virtual events.
  • Support student requests pertaining to retention, returning students and graduation.

Qualifications:


  • University Degree or College Diploma in a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in student counselling, academic advising and/or student support.
  • Understanding of Canadian postsecondary education system and international education industry.
  • Previous experience working with postsecondary students and international students is an asset.
  • Understanding of multicultural environment and ability to work with diverse student population.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail.
