Brightside Community Homes Foundation (?Brightside?) is a charitable, private-sector non-profit organization that owns and manages affordable rental housing throughout the City of Vancouver.

Brightside's mission is to build resilient communities, throughout Metro Vancouver, with safe and secure homes for those struggling to meet the demands of market housing.

We envision future where people of all income levels have a home within a vibrant and healthy community.

With 22 buildings currently providing homes for over 750 independent-living seniors, low-income families, and people with disabilities, Brightside is working to double the number of affordable homes we provide by 2030; we are currently undertaking four major redevelopments that will provide 485 new affordable rental homes by 2025.

COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY

We are committed to recognizing and reflecting the diversity of the people we house, the communities we build, and the talent we employ.

Brightside fosters an inclusive workplace culture where ideas, individual abilities and diverse perspectives are valued and each person is encouraged to learn, develop, and contribute in a meaningful way.

OPPORTUNITY

Brightside is seeking to add a new team member in the Communications & Partnerships department, in the role of Communications & Marketing Coordinator.

This position falls under the leadership of the Communications & Partnerships Manager.

Housing and housing affordability continue to be key issues in the media and at all levels of government; the overwhelming need for housing in Metro Vancouver means the incumbent will have the opportunity to work in an engaging and fast-paced setting.

Exceptional communication skills, strong alignment with Brightside's values, and a passion for housing equity are essential for this role.

MAIN AREAS OF FOCUS

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will be part of a small but integral team that is both the steward of the Brightside narrative and the keeper of ?the right purple? (Hex Code #4B306A if you're wondering).

The Communications team works closely with all departments, and values deep knowledge of Brightside to accurately represent Brightside's work and mission to the outside world.

As a part of the Communications and Partnerships department, the incumbent will be involved in strategic communications for both general/sector activity and for Brightside's redevelopment-focused work.

Marketing and brand promotion will be tied to Brightside's redevelopments, social enterprise work, and how Brightside is portrayed to the public.

Maintaining and advancing Brightside's online presence is a key part of the organization's public representation, and the incumbent will be integrally involved in this work.

The communications team also plays a role in resident-facing communications, and the incumbent will have the opportunity to participate in community development events.

The threads that connect all of this work are a fundamental alignment with Brightside's values, a strong understanding of Brightside's work and mission, and a willingness to work collaboratively across all teams within the organization.
