Responsibilities

Shipping

  • Accurately prepare items for shipment in accordance with work orders, customer orders, or other written instructions. Duties include (but are not limited to): retrieving product from the warehouse, preparing skids, and weighing shipments.
  • Prepare all documentation necessary for shipments, both foreign and domestic. This includes bills of lading, certificates of origin, customs requirements, internal paperwork, etc.
  • Coordinate and schedule transportation for outgoing shipments. Provide written and oral communication between customers, carriers, and various departments.
  • Package finished goods for shipping, build crates.
  • Load trucks.

Receiving

  • Follow appropriate procedures for receiving shipments in accordance with purchase orders, customer orders, or other written instructions and by coordinating with other warehouse personnel.
  • Sign for incoming deliveries.
  • Provide written and oral communication between suppliers, carriers and various departments.
  • Identify and verify vendor packing slips, carrier shipping documents, labels and other receiving documents and compare to purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Assign Dimatec Lot Numbers (DLN's) to incoming materials (where applicable).
  • Verify and confirm that all items received are in good condition.
  • Resolve discrepancies with Purchasing Agent and/or suppliers.
  • Conduct inventory counts and investigate discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
  • Store materials.
  • Record receiving data into the company's ERP/Syspro system, as required.
  • Unload trucks.
  • Distribute and record internal inventory movement.
  • Oversee the handling of customer property in accordance with quality management system requirements.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and safe work procedures.
  • Operate forklift for movement of goods as well as empty chip bins from Machine Shop.
  • Maintain stockroom area as well as general cleanliness in the warehouse.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in warehouse/shipping environment.
  • Experience using hand and power tools, and overhead crane operation.
  • Familiarity with bills of lading and international shipping documentation.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Forklift certificate and demonstrated experience operating forklift
  • Intermediate computer skills.

Key competencies

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with general manufacturing practices.
  • Physical ability to lift loads of up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Exposure to seasonal/extreme temperatures.

Salary:
$17.00-$22.00 per hour
